A gentle and playful journey through movement, touch, and connection.
In this Contact Improvisation workshop, we will explore how we can meet ourselves and other women more deeply through the body. Together, we will practice listening, sensing, trusting, and moving from curiosity rather than rules.
Contact Improvisation is a free-form movement practice that emerges in the present moment through connection with another person. Through touch, shared weight, movement, and conscious presence, we will discover greater ease, creativity, aliveness, and freedom in our bodies. It is a practice that can feel both like a moving meditation and a playground. It invites us to slow down, listen to the wisdom of the body, and awaken curiosity and our inner child.
During the workshop, we will deepen our connection with our bodies and bodily sensations; cultivate body awareness and trust; explore authentic connection with other women; invite more playfulness, joy, and creativity into our movement; and learn to communicate through movement, rather than words.
No dance experience is needed. All you need is curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore something new through the body, movement, and connection.
The workshop will be guided by Vydūnė, a Contact Improvisation practitioner and facilitator who has been exploring this movement form for over five years. In her classes, she creates a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where each participant can move at their own pace, listen to themselves, and discover greater freedom to be fully themselves in the presence of others.
